RE: 2009 Coleman Camping Trailer Brochure

Very cool, thanks Ruide. Looks like a pretty slick brochure also.

RE: Cleaning Anode Rod?

Are you sure you the water heater had water in it? Do you possibly have a bypass valve installed on it?

RE: Winterizing Hot Water Heater

What are you using? I use a 1 1/8" socket on a 1/2" drive.
Is this the first time you've tried to remove it or have you had it out before?

RE: 15A Service for My 30A PUP?

Just to test for my understanding, 15amp service is not enough juice to handle all of my power needs, just some of them. If I have the fridge running on LP I could (possibly) run the A/C and an outlet if needed. I've run both the A/C and fridge at home before.
However, would there be any damage if I connected into 50A service?
-Mike
I've ran my A/C on my 15A home circuit before also, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have a pretty much dedicated circuit that I plug my camper into (it only shares with lights/outlets in the basement that aren't being used) and I wouldn't run anything else while doing it. As far as 50A hurting it, no. You will need an adapter for that also, but you're camper won't take more than it needs.
Amps are not pushed from the pedestal - they are a measurement of what you are using. The amps are at zero before you plug in. As you begin using power the amps you draw will increase.
As mentioned, amps measure how much you are using, not how much is being supplied. Since your camper cant use 50amps it won't. So no worries about overloading it.

RE: Where's He Ruide?

I think this has been asked before, but can this be made sticky? Should we send Mike a PM about it? I'm sure he's on here a lot, but I don't know if he has time to read every single post in every thread.

Thanks for that link, Ruide. There was some other good info on there also.

RE: Where's He Ruide?

God Speed the recovery Ruide. I've always enjoyed your posts. Since you can't get out right now, I'd like to invite all to post 1 picture of a recent camp experience so He Ruide can still enjoy the great outdoors. I'll try to post a pic this weekend.
Take care
Randy

Ruide,
I too was deeply troubled to hear of your illness. You offer so much to this forum while asking for nothing in return. Our thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

RE: Just saw this outside my local laundromat

Did you look at the price sheet? $250 for a magazine rack? $2300 for a 15" tv? No wonder they cost so much, it looks like a government contractor is building them.

RE: I did it, I tore the popups material and did my first mod!

Today I took out the mattress from the forward bunk. I then replaced it with some nice indoor outdoor carpeting from Lowe's that they mis-priced me on and I saved 30%!
That seems to be a common issue with them. I bought a piece of outdoor carpet for a mat at our Lowe's, and they charged me the wrong price also. That was last year!

RE: garage storage

I've been storing my '83 Coleman PUP closed and covered for 25 years w/o any problem.
FWIW: Calcium chloride is the same thing used by the "moisture control" product people for both indoor and outdoor use---no, it isn't toxic!
....many farm supply stores carry it, and a 100# bag runs about $8 in my area. Spread about an inch of it in a couple of cake pans and set them inside the T.
It's the same thing rural towns and farmers spread on their dirt roads to hold down the dust. Just make sure when storing the unused portion that you close and tape the bag tightly.

It's also what we pump in tractor tires for weight.

RE: Air Conditioner..SMALL

Look at the "portable A/C's." This one is at Walmart, is 12K BTU and has a dual hose. You can go smaller at 10K or 8k btu's also. Does not need a window. And can be moved around or even used at home. Shop around for the best price, but make sure it has the "dual hose" or it won't work as well. We used one in our Jayco popup, running the 2 exaust hoses to an empty cabinet which was then vented out side. Kept us cool even in 100 degree plus weather, and we got it with a heating function for chilly nights! :)
How would you buy one of those? It says not sold online and not sold in stores. :h

RE: Branson campgrounds (Help)

The KOA in Branson is one of the FEW that is decent. After the "old" KOA was sold for a condo development, the owner purchased Chastain's RV Park, which is one of the best in the area. It's probably the only KOA that I'd ever recommend.
The campground near Roy Rogers Theatre is Shenanigans.
Larry I think he is referring to the "Private RV Park" not Shenanigans.
Shirley
That would be Treasure Lake.

Anyone seen one of these?

I've seen truck campers like this, but this is the first trailer I've seen.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Vehicles-Trailers_RVs-Campers__92-Palomina-19-hard-side-pop-up-travel-trailer-2500_W0QQitemZ110271357896QQddnZOtherQ20VehiclesQ20Q26Q20TrailersQQadnZRVsQ20Q26Q20CampersQQddiZ2828QQadiZ2799QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110271357896&_trksid=p3756.m14.l1308#ebayphotohosting
I don't know what the advantage would be other than a lower towing profile.

RE: viking

What info are you looking for? Yes, Viking's are still being made. I don't know what year you have, but here's an 03-06 owners manual. Even if yours is older a lot of the information will be the same. There are several Viking owners on here as well as several of us who have Coachman Clippers which are rebranded Vikings so please ask as many questions as you need to and welcome to the forum.

Coachmen Futura

This is the first one of these I've seen. Is this a product of the Fleetwood/Coleman/Coachmen/whoever else lawsuits? It says it's an '05, but it's got the sliding storage trunk that Coachmen/Viking just started offering in '08. Funny how some ideas that seem new really aren't. Does anyone know how many of these were made/sold and how long was the run?
http://www.mwrvcenter.com/used_popups.asp
It's should be at the top of the list, I couldn't get a direct link to the listing.
